Hog Receiving Barn Worker

As a Hog Receiving Barn Worker, you will play an important role in supporting one of Canada’s leading pork production operations. This hands-on position involves receiving, unloading, and sorting hogs while helping ensure they are handled safely and humanely when they arrive at our facility.

Salary & Benefits

Hog Receiving Barn Workers start at a wage of $20.75/hour, with wage growth potential up to $22.05/hour based on tenure.

This position also includes permanent full-time employment, full training, and genuine opportunities for career progression within the company.

Employment Requirements

This role is active, hands-on, and requires care, attention, and respect for animal welfare, food safety, and workplace safety.

To succeed as a Hog Receiving Barn Worker, applicants should have:

  • Respect for animal welfare, food safety, and workplace safety
  • Knowledge of animal behaviour, considered an asset
  • 1 to 7 months of experience working with livestock
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding role
  • Ability to bend, lift, crawl, and perform repetitive manual tasks
  • Comfort working in diverse environments, including varying temperatures, humidity, and odours
