Purpose
The Regional Operations Manager, Wean to Market provides operational leadership for all wean-to-market activities within the Iowa region and is accountable for the performance, compliance, and development of assigned operations, including production, facility operations, maintenance, environmental coordination, and other regional support functions.

This position is accountable for ensuring consistent performance, leadership execution, and operational discipline across all assigned production sites, contract grower relationships, leased facilities, and regional support functions, while maintaining full compliance with Safety, Animal Welfare, Biosecurity, and HANOR Production Practices (HPP) standards. The role also drives consistency, reduces variation, and fosters a culture of accountability, disciplined execution, and strong leadership.

Reporting to the Director, Wean to Market, the Regional Operations Manager ensures consistent execution of company standards, translates company priorities into regional results, and develops direct reports and other operational leaders into high-performing teams. The role works closely with Veterinary Services, Nutrition, Transportation, CRS (Compliance, Risk, and Safety), HR, Environmental, Finance, and other corporate support functions to ensure operational, safety, regulatory, and employee development goals are met.

This role serves as the bridge between company strategy and frontline execution, ensuring alignment, consistency, and disciplined leadership across all wean-to-market operations within the assigned region.

This position is central to reinforcing The HANOR Way across multiple sites and teams, ensuring alignment, consistency, and sustained operational performance throughout the region.



Qualifications

Education and Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in swine production or related agricultural operations, including responsibility for multi-site performance and leadership development.

  • Experience in multi-site operational leadership preferred.

  • Experience with wean-to-finish, grow-finish, nursery, finishing, contract grower systems, facility operations, or related wean-to-market production systems preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience managing production performance, compliance expectations, people leadership, and financial results across multiple locations.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Strong understanding of wean-to-market swine production systems, animal husbandry, herd health, feed management, facility management, marketing, biosecurity, and regulatory compliance expectations.

  • Working knowledge of Safety, Animal Welfare, and Biosecurity standards and best practices.

  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold leaders accountable while developing high-performing teams.

  • Proficiency in production analysis, budgeting, financial review, and KPI management.

  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional and regional collaboration.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain company-required animal welfare, production, safety, and transportation-related certifications as applicable.

  • Ability to drive consistency across multiple sites and align teams to shared standards and expectations.

  • Ability to lead through multiple layers of the organization while maintaining accountability for frontline execution.

  • Spanish language skills preferred.
